Welcome to my blog!

My name is Chelsi and I am 33 years old. I am a single adopted Mother, living with Dystonia, and loving Jesus, and coffee. The purpose in this blog is to share with the world that you are NOT alone in this life. This blog was inspired by Lynn Burrell who has and continues to be my mentor in my life.

When Jesus called me to the Foster care world:

I had been running for months on edge from the very calling the Lord was calling my heart to. It was a Sunday morning at church where the Lord broke me down, and I heard the calling so clearly in the pew. I bargained with the Lord and said "fine. If this is your calling for me, prove it." NEVER did I think he actually would. Months later I would have my first placement. I found myself going to the Lord everyday asking Him for help. Eighteen kids later, and I have adopted one child. She is my entire heart, and I couldn't image my life without MY daughter.

Dystonia

My journey started when I was in first grade. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 23 years old with Dystonia. Dystonia is a movement disorder characterized by sustained or intermittent involuntary muscle contractions that cause abnormal movements, postures, or both.

Saved by Grace:

I was raised in church but did not give my heart to Jesus until my Freshman year of High school. The Thompson family played a big role into leading me to Christ. Mr. Thompson, who was the counselor in my Middle school at the time would pray for me consistently to accept Jesus as my Savior. THREE years and two months later I did just that. Not a day went past that he didn't show me Jesus and a whole lot of grace. He's told me the story about Paul and referred to me as Jonah (the stubbornness), but he would always point me back to Christ. I heard "Now I get to walk you through living life in the image of Christ." I got this wrong so many times but so many times they had grace for me.

Friendship

I am so thankful for friends that go through the good and the bad with us. That point me right back to Christ.
